The call for projects on “How do you make it? Trades in Brussels” (Hoe maakt u het? Ambachten in Brussel) gave twenty tradespeople a financial boost to share their knowledge with a (new) public. From goldsmithing to bicycle mechanics to woodworking. The workshops for children were particularly successful.
Jeugdcentrum Aximax (youth centre) organised an entire play week around the different trades. Children between the ages of 10 and 12 learned smithing and weaving. Adults also showed great interest in workshops in ceramics, weaving, papermaking and printing techniques held by the Ten Noey community centre.
I learned something completely new. I learned to work with fire!
