Clean air in day care centres

Air quality affects the development of children, and fresh air also helps prevent the spread of viruses like COVID-19. That is why all Dutch-language day care centres in Brussels were given a free CO2 meter shaped like a little house. A green, orange or red light indicates the air quality. Roxane, head of the Klavertje Vier day care centre:

The CO2 meter gives a better view of the air quality in our living spaces. So we learned, for example, that the air quality will already improve slightly merely from opening the door and propping up the window for 20 minutes. That is very reassuring.

The service 'Opgroeien in Brussel' (growing up in Brussels) offers tailor-made support to day care centres to improve air quality, in collaboration with the Flemish Institute for Technological Research.
