18 school teams from the Dutch-speaking schools in Brussels engaged in dialogue with the VGC college member responsible for Education. Together, they reflected on the future of education in Brussels and made a series of recommendations. Other schools sent in their ideas via an online survey. These ideas and recommendations have inspired the VGC’s policy for the coming years.

During the lockdown children could not go to school for quite a long time. Teachers suddenly had to switch to online teaching. And when the schools were able to partly reopen , they also had to get used to working with bubbles, face masks and hand sanitizer.
Multilingualism in school
Helping to improve the Dutch skills of pupils who have a different mother tongue, training multilingual students and supporting teams of teachers. Language and multilingualism is one of the most important topics on which the Brussels Education Centre, or OCB, of the VGC is working.
